World Water Day
World Water Day is marked today, on the 22nd March. This is a long-standing and crucial initiative by the UN highlighting the importance of freshwater.
A key part of our company’s work involves surveying water wells across the UK, assisting water providers in safeguarding this vital resource.

We are a leading provider of this service, having worked with most of the water utility companies in the country, and currently have contracts with, or are the preferred contractor for:
- Severn Trent Water (since 1994)
- United Utilities (since 1994)
- Yorkshire Water (since 1994)
- South Staffordshire Water (since 1994)
- Northumberland Water (since 1998)
- Essex and Suffolk Water (since 1994)
- South East Water (since 1994 as Mid Kent Water)
- Southern Water (since 2002)
- Thames Water (since 1994)
- Anglian Water (since 2004)
- South West Water (since 2009)
- Nestle (since 2002)
We also work for a wide range of consultancies that work alongside these utility companies or other potable water extractors – including more than a handful of breweries and distilleries!
These long-standing relationships allow us to not only provide information on the current condition of the wells but also compare to historical surveys in our archive and other local wells that may have similar geological profiles. It also allows our newer engineers to build their historical knowledge and be trained on a massive dataset! Regarding the photo: we’ve been logging boreholes and wells since 1994 – longer than many of our engineers have been alive, and the snap was taken just a year later in 1995.
