Geothermal Wells: CCTV Surveys and Borehole Logging

Geothermal wells are a critical and costly component of any geothermal development, making reliable data essential for construction, development, and ongoing maintenance. European Geophysical Services has extensive experience working on deep geothermal projects and both open and closed loop systems, providing tailored solutions to meet the unique demands of each project.

Open Loop Systems

An open loop geothermal system relies on two wells—a supply well and a return well—to pump clean groundwater from a nearby aquifer to an indoor geothermal heat pump. This system is only practical where there is a reliable and sufficient supply of clean groundwater.

Closed Loop Systems

A closed loop geothermal system uses a completely sealed loop of plastic piping to circulate a heat transfer solution. This solution continuously flows within the loop, providing an efficient alternative for locations without access to sufficient groundwater resources.

European Geophysical offers a comprehensive range of services to support the development and maintenance of geothermal wells:

  • Data collection for well design
  • Confirmation of borehole construction and condition
  • Measurement of fluid temperatures
  • Identification of flow zones and flow rates
  • Monitoring of water quality and temperature
  • Evaluation of formation permeability
  • Monitoring the effects of well development
  • Physical condition surveys
  • Formation evaluation

By utilising advanced technologies and proven methodologies, we ensure that geothermal systems are optimally designed and maintained for long-term performance.

European Geophysical Services is committed to providing accurate, reliable data to support the success of geothermal energy projects, enabling efficient and sustainable energy production.
